Peritra is an online marketplace that connects customers with verified specialists across medicine, law, finance, engineering and more. References to “we”, “us” or “Peritra” in this policy refer to the operator of this platform. For data-related enquiries contact: privacy@peritra.co.uk

2. Data We Collect

We collect the following personal data when you use Peritra:

  • Account data: Full name, email address, and hashed password when you register.
  • Specialist profile data: Phone number, professional bio, qualifications, and profile image (specialists only).
  • Usage data: Contact requests you send or receive through the platform.
  • Technical data: IP address (used transiently for rate-limiting; not stored long-term).

3. How We Use Your Data

  • To create and manage your account.
  • To display your public specialist profile to potential clients.
  • To facilitate contact between customers and specialists.
  • To prevent fraud, spam and abuse (rate-limiting).
  • To respond to support and deletion requests.

We do not sell your personal data to third parties or use it for advertising.

4. Cookies

We use a single strictly necessary cookie named token. This is an HttpOnly authentication cookie required to keep you logged in. It cannot be disabled without ending your session.

We do not currently use analytics, advertising or tracking cookies. Should we introduce them in the future, this policy will be updated and your consent will be requested.

5. Third-Party Services

To operate the platform we share limited data with the following third parties:

  • Neon (PostgreSQL hosting) — stores all platform data. Located in the EU/US depending on configuration.
  • Cloudflare (CDN / R2 storage) — may cache public pages and serve profile images.
  • Resend — used to send transactional emails (e.g. account deletion acknowledgements).

6. Data Retention

We retain your personal data for as long as your account is active. If you request account deletion, we will delete your data within 30 days. Some data may be retained for a limited period where required by law.

7. Your Rights (GDPR)

If you are in the EU or UK you have the following rights under GDPR / UK GDPR:

  • Right to access the personal data we hold about you.
  • Right to rectification of inaccurate data.
  • Right to erasure (“right to be forgotten”).
  • Right to restriction of processing.
  • Right to data portability.
  • Right to object to processing.

8. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be communicated by email or an in-app notice. Continued use of Peritra after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
